Introducing The Office With A Backyard View

Office with a Backyard View

Ahhh-The Hummingbird!  The Sirens of Titan.
Not much work got done in their fall migration

Caught on Camera
4 of 7 BlueJays that were seen in our backyard at one time
(a visitor to the blog pointed out the 4th one. Can you see it?)

There is good suet and bad suet.
This is suet worth fighting for!
This is a hairy woodpecker
Okay I already cheated. I took this shot in High Park on the Weekend,
but I was with The Leading Man from the office and I used the office camera.

The Leading Man from the office heard this story
about this amazing photograph on his way to a client.

  1. Those pics of the birds are lovely.
How did you snap that picture of the Jayes at that instant?

I don't know very much about cameras.
    Is yours a special type?

  2. Oops!
Forget to say that I think I see another Blue Jay through the cover and standing on the feeder.
Isn't that part of her tail in the picture below the feeder with the plastic cover?

  3. Hi Denise...

Thanks for admiring the Blue Jays. We just got lucky, really to catch them like that. They were
mainly gathering at the bird feeder so we kept snapping our camera over and over again pointing it mainly in that direction through our office window. It was hand held and not set up on a tri-pod at the time. The camera is a basic digital cannon powershot. You are so right about the fourth blue jay through the cover of the feeder! Infact in another picture, I just caught the tail of one in the camera...so there were five caught.I am going to change that right away! We do have many more pictures and many I have cropped and I have lovely compositions of the birds, with such expression! digital cameras are wonderful!

Going to stay tuned to your blog so that I can see the pics of the Hummingbirds in the spring.

  5. Hi Denise. I have so many more bird and flower pictures literally from our backyard but don't want to put them on all at the same time. We took many hummingbird pictures actually. It is the computer man's other passion, and he set the camera on a tri- pod and had it shooting many in a row.(I forget the term)..and all with this little digital..and he has some videos. I should try to put one of those up here. I never thought of it until now. He got so many great shots...like over 500 in total. Seriously, he really didn't get much work done at all in that 4 weeks or so. I will put up more.,..and there are many more bird shots so I hope there will be more for you to enjoy.
    thanks
